High Impact Teaching with Open Educational Resources: Adapting for Student Success Online
Open educational resources (OER) are the latest addition to AAC&U's high impact practices. Free and adaptable course materials, OER give you the power to revise and customize your course content to support specific learning goals and student needs. However, just as "asking students to work in groups" is not the same as incorporating collaborative assignments into your course, "assigning readings from an OER" is not particularly high impact. In this session, Abbey Elder, Open Education Services Librarian, will provide tips and tricks for how you can leverage the flexible and adaptable nature of OER to make your course design more intentional, relevant, and engaging for student success.
